The new £6.6m Wolfson Cystic Fibrosis Centre is now open
The new £6.6m cystic fibrosis centre at Nottingham City Hospital opened its doors to patients on Monday 14 April and will set a new benchmark for the way that patients are cared for.

The Wolfson Cystic Fibrosis Centre will transform the care of this unique group of young patients by creating a 'home in hospital', where patients can not only receive all the treatment they need in one place, but also feel comfortable and at-home during the long periods of time they have to spend in hospital.

Peter Homa, Chief Executive at NUH, said: "This new unit will completely transform the treatment of CF patients and will create a home in hospital. Patients can not only receive all the treatment they need in one place, but also feel comfortable and at-home during the long periods of time they spend in hospital."

"It's wonderful to see the building now complete and it's a great testament of the Trust's commitment to provide exceptional, high quality care to our patients. I'd also like to thank all of the donors for their generosity, as without them we wouldn't have been able to build this state-of-the-art facility."
Nottingham Hospitals Charity has provided over £2.1 million towards the cost of the new centre. The charity's Chief Executive Barbara Cathcart said: "This has been an amazing opportunity for the charity to work together with the NHS to provide this fantastic new centre and create a home environment for these patients within the hospital. This project really sums up what the charity is all about: providing enhancements to the hospital's care, so that patients have the best possible experience while they are with us."
